Governance
Wootton Academy is part of the Wootton Academy Trust (WAT).
WAT also runs Kimberley Sixth Form College in Stewartby, where many of our students go after their GCSEs.
School Governance and Leadership
The Trust’s board of directors are the “responsible body” for Wootton Academy. This means they have overall responsibility for the school, including strategy, standards and financial management.
The day-to-day running of the school is delegated to the Executive Headteacher and Head of School, Mark Lehain and Carrie McMorn.
The school also has a Local Governing Board (LGB), made up of trustees, staff and parent governors, and others appointed for their skills and expertise.

The LGB meets regularly to allow the school to draw upon the knowledge and experience of governors, and consult with them on key areas such as attendance, behaviour, SEND, the curriculum, and so on. Our Scheme of Delegation – which breaks down who in the Trust is responsible for what – can be found here:
If you have any queries about the school, in the first instance you should contact Carrie McMorn our Head of School. After this, if you wish to contact the Chair of the Wootton LGB, you can do so via the Executive Assistant on bsnape@wootton.beds.sch.uk
If you would like more information or, if you are interested in joining our LGB or Board, please contact the Executive Assistant.
